Kick-starting his career at Acer Group, Lee quickly progressed his way through a diverse range of positions in manufacturing, marketing, sales and strategic planning, with eventually assuming the position of Vice President of Acer, Inc.
In 1991, Lee transferred as President to Acer Peripherals, and in 2000, Acer Peripherals became Acer Communications and Multimedia (ACM), which reflected Lee's vision for the company's strategic move from a peripherals company to a communications, optical and multimedia powerhouse. In 2001, ACM adopted the name BenQ to better reflect its focus on 'Bringing Enjoyment and Quality to Life'and integrating technologies for modern digital lifestyles. In 2005, BenQ has accumulated industry insight to further solidify its 3C strengths and brand prowess in hopes to launch the BenQ brand onto the world stage.
Under Lee's leadership, BenQ's vertical integration business strategy has been essential to its rapid growth and expansion. Throughout Lee's tenure, BenQ has seen the increase in the extent of the BenQ Group, a $20+ billion powerhouse comprised of 15+ independent companies operating in over 30 countries across numerous industries with a collective workforce of over 100,000 employees. Each Group member is a recognized leader in its own field, contributing to the BenQ Group's vast resources, broad R&D, and distinct strategic strengths. In his free time, Lee enjoys reading and shares an interest and passion for history. He also enjoys numerous outdoor activities including hiking and mountain climbing. Leading by example, Lee makes recommendations to BenQ's internal book club and leads the annual BenQ Olympiad as well as the annual Yushan Mountain (3992 meters in height) executive climb in southern Taiwan.
Lee holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University and an MBA from the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland.
